About Kareen

You’ve already taken the first step, and that takes courage. I’m so glad you’re here. Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, especially when life feels overwhelming or you’re not quite sure where to begin. As a graduate-level therapist, I believe you should never have to navigate those moments alone. I’m here to walk alongside you, listen without judgment, and create a safe and welcoming space where you can show up as your authentic self. You don’t have to have all the answers before we begin. We can take it one step at a time, together.

I love this work because I believe every person has a story, strengths, and the capacity for growth even when those things can be difficult to see for ourselves. Counseling is not about “fixing” you, because you are not broken. It is about having someone beside you who is willing to listen, be curious about your experiences, and help make sense of what may feel overwhelming or chaotic.

I also believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counseling. My goal is to meet you where you are and work collaboratively with you to create a counseling experience that feels genuine, respectful, and meaningful. As I continue my own journey as a counselor, I’m reminded that growth is a journey for all of us, and I bring compassion, curiosity, authenticity, and a little humor into the counseling space.

When I’m not doing this work, you can usually find me somewhere surrounded by plants; my house and work plants have taken over more than a few spaces. I also enjoy tending to my little flower garden, spending time with my family, and traveling whenever I get the opportunity. I’ve been married to my husband for 24 years, and we have three adult children: two are still at home navigating college, while another is building a career in the Navy.

When I’m not being a wife, mom, counselor-in-training, or plant caretaker, I love exploring other countries, experiencing different cultures, and discovering what people eat, celebrate, and value. Those experiences have taught me one of the things I value most in counseling: there is always more to someone's story than what we see on the surface.
