About Dahlia
Hey you! You’ve already taken an important step forward just by being here, and I’m so happy you’re considering therapy. Whatever brings you to therapy, I am passionate about providing a judgment-free space for you to heal and grow in the ways that serve your wellbeing best. I believe in your intrinsic worth and have the utmost respect for your lived experience, your knowledge of yourself, and all the parts of who you are. My job is to understand where you’re coming from, walk alongside you, and bring my warmth, insight, support, and therapeutic knowledge to help you tap into your own strengths and resources and move toward your goals.
I care deeply about the people I work with and want to understand what makes each person who they are. I also have a natural sense of humor that tends to bubble up in my relationships, including in the therapy room. I believe that trust and connection can provide a foundation for deeper work. When it feels right, that foundation can allow us to explore and work toward healing and change.
My path to this work has been shaped by a unique combination of life experience and academic training. Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years as a neuroscientist, earning a PhD and researching the human brain, and later stepped away from academia to raise my children. As an immigrant, I also know firsthand what it means to navigate different cultures, adapt to a new environment, and sometimes feel different.
These varied experiences have taught me to keep an open mind, resist easy assumptions, and appreciate both the complexity of being human and the many ways we adapt and grow. My years of mindfulness and yoga practice have also shaped my understanding of the mind-body connection and the value of meeting our inner experience with curiosity and compassion. Outside of therapy, I love spending time with my family, friends, and two cats, as well as playing catchball (it’s okay if you’ve never heard of this team sport, it’s like volleyball, but for moms :).
I hope to hear from you soon!
